St Andrew's Ministry Center

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I enter the church?

It can get confusing as to how to get to the service you want to attend since we have two sites of worship on the same plot of land. The contemporary services are held in the larger Ministry Center, the entrance to which is on Venning Street. The traditional services are held in the church, the entrance to which is located on Whilden Street. Directional signs are posted on the street corners as well as on every building on our campus. Feel free, though, to ask where to go - everyone will be happy to help.

What should I wear?

Please feel free to wear whatever you want. Come in jeans or come in a suit! We're just glad that you're with us. (Yes, really - jeans are ok.)

What kind of music will I hear?

In the Ministry Center, where the contemporary services are held, worship is lead by a team of musicians using just about every musical instrument possible from electric guitar to drums to violin and flute. In the Historic Church, where the traditional services occur, the worship is lead by an organist and a choir is also a part of our worship.

How does childcare work?

At St. Andrew's we believe children are a gift from God to be treasured and cared for. We have a loving, gentle, and well-supervised children's ministry under the direction of trained leaders available to provide for the needs of your children. Childcare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers is in our Nursery, located downstairs in the MinistryCenter. An usher or greeter will be happy to direct you if you need assistance. If you wish to keep your children with you and they become restless, you may step into one of the two rooms equipped with audio/video link where you can still see and hear the service through our A/V system.

Do I have to give money?

No, you do not. We only ask people who call St Andrew's their home to give during the offering as the money is used to maintain the church, pay the bills and, more importantly, bless those who need help. When you visit with us please do not feel obliged to give.

What about parking?

We have a parking lot available on Venning Street. Through the generosity of their owners, we also use the parking lot at Moultrie Plaza, located across Coleman Boulevard from Moultrie Middle School, and Johnson-Halls Funeral Home on Venning Street . We also run a shuttle between the corner of Coleman Boulevard & Simmons Street, Johnson-Halls Funeral Home, and St. Andrew's before and after the services. The shuttle does not cross over Coleman Boulevard.
