Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
By now, we are aware of the devastation in Haiti. Please keep the people of this nation in your prayers.
For over 20 years, St. Andrew’s has been involved in Haiti. We are a founding member of the Haitian partnership program, and we helped to build a school and clinic on the island of La Gonave. Currently, we are paying three teachers’ salaries at the school and sponsoring a Haitian medical student in the Dominican Republic. We also support a nutritional program which started on the island of La Gonave and has spread on the mainland around the city of Croix de Bouquet with over 6 nutritional stations feeding almost 600 children. So the crisis in Haiti affects this church uniquely.
Our immediate plan is to get some resources to these nutritional stations to make sure the children and their parents have hot meals and a place to stay.
In the weeks and months ahead, we will be working with some credible relief organizations to address the needs of the people. We will be sending a mission team to do some much needed service for our brothers and sisters. But for now, we want to seek practical ways to address the growing needs by sending money to buy much needed medicine, food and other supplies.
I encourage you to respond if you have the means by contribution to the Haiti Disaster Fund. You may address your contribution to St. Andrew’s and indicate the “Haiti Disaster Fund”. You may also give online and designate your gift for Haiti Disaster Fund.
Again, please remember our brothers and sisters in your prayers.
For His Sake,
Anthony Kowbeidu
