Early Childhood Ministry

The Early Childhood Ministry provides a safe, loving environment where children from 6 weeks old to kindergarten are cared for taught about God’s love for them.

Time spent in the Deep End during Sunday and Wednesday worship services typically includes play, a bible lesson, arts and crafts and a snack. A wide range of developmentally appropriate toys and books are available in all classrooms. Children will also enjoy playing outside on our playground as time and weather permit.

What to Expect

Hours of Operation

Children’s programs are offered during Sunday and Wednesday worship services with the exception of the 7:45 am Sunday service. We also serve children during some church wide events.

We open doors to children 15 minutes before the scheduled start of any service or event. Children are to be picked up within 10 minutes of the end of any service or event.

Location

The Deep End is located on the ground floor of the Ministry Center.

Visitor Cards and Registration

You will be asked to fill out a visitor’s card on your first visit, and you will be given temporary security tags. For your child's continued safety and to streamline the drop-off process, we ask that you register your child on your second visit. Registration forms can be found at the check-in station. When registration is complete, you will be assigned matching numbered security tags to be used for drop-off and pick-up. Tag numbers are also used to notify you if your child needs you while you are in the Ministry Center.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Your child must be checked in each time you bring him to the Deep End. On Sunday mornings a staff member or volunteer will assist you in finding your numbered security tags. Children will not be released to anyone who does not have the matching tag. When the tag system is not being used, you are asked to sign your child in on a sign-in sheet in the classroom.

When signing in, write down and verbally alert the nursery staff to any allergies, special needs or important information about your child. Please label all items (diaper bags, bottles, sippy cups) that are brought with your child. Please right down your cell phone number and set it to vibrate. We will text or call that number if we need you to return to your child’s classroom.

Visual Paging

A paging system is located on the front right wall of the Ministry Center. The number on your security card is the number assigned to your child for the service or event. If you see your number on the screen, please return to your child’s classroom.

Snacks

We provide water and a light snack that is free of chocolate and peanut products. Verbally alert staff to specific food allergies or restrictions your child may have. Infants will be fed only per your instructions.

Illness

In order to provide a safe and healthy environment for all children in our care, we ask that your child stay home when the following is observed:
- Fever above 100 in the past 24 hours
- Vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours
- If a child has been on an antibiotic for less than 24 hours
- Excessive coughing, discharge around or in the eyes, unexplained rashes or any communicable disease
- Chicken pox: for one week after the first skin lesions appear and six days after the last crop of vesicles
- Head lice
